Chemische Werke Hommel GmbH & Co. KG's is a company
founded upon expertise and quality of service with a legacy
of over 115 years. The origins of Chemische Werke Hommel
began when Dr Adolf Hommel registered the creation of Hommel
Ag in Zurich in 1890. Within a space of thirty years Hommel Ag
had relocated the head office of the company to Hamburg,
registering the company as Dr. Hommel's Chemische Werke und
Handelsgesellschaft mbH on April 26th 1922.

By 1961, the company had become recognized as an exporter of
pharmaceutical raw materials affiliated with the pharmaceutical
industry. During the sixties Dr. Hommel's Chemische Werke
und Handelsgesellschaft mbH changed its company name to Chemische Werke
Hommel GmbH A name that the industry has become familiar with
during the last four decades.
During 1989 Chemische Werke Hommel GmbH changed its corporate
strategy, by outsourcing the production of pharmaceutical products, enabling them
to focus on the provision of high quality raw material and active pharmaceutical
ingredients to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. 1992, was an important
year for Chemische Werke Hommel as they celebrated the 100th anniversary of the
company, continuing to provide a quality and loyal service to their customers.
2002 was another land mark year for Chemische Werke Hommel as they celebrated the 110th anniversary of the company, announcing the Foundation of

HPP–Hommel Pharmaceuticals Production GmbH in Barleben. The Foundation of HPP opened new commercial horizons as it focused upon sterilization with filtration amongst other steroids and micronises under sterile conditions. Shortly after in 2004, Thorsten Völkl concentrating upon the 115 year legacy of “Customer satisfaction, clear thinking about the needs of the customer, fulfilling their wishes as soon and exactly as possible”, following in the footsteps of his father Dr. Völkl, became Managing Director of Chemische Werke Hommel GmbH & Co.KG .
Today Chemische Werke Hommel GmbH & Co.KG has a proud portfolio consisting of 130 main products, with more than additional 370 products that can be supplied. A Supplier of chemical and pharmaceutical raw materials and active
pharmaceutical ingredients concentrating upon trustworthy, liable suppliers and
manufacturers. Providing a global service with customers present in almost every continent.
