Rexam, a global leader in consumer packaging, today announced the closure of its Nashua, N.H., plastic packaging manufacturing plant.

The closure will occur in the fourth quarter of 2010. The move further aligns the company’s manufacturing capabilities, improves overall asset utilization and helps balance industry capacity and demand.
The plant, which began operations in 1974, employs approximately 100 people and manufactures injection blow molded products for the healthcare market. The plant’s production will be absorbed by other Rexam facilities without interruption in customer shipments.
All employees affected by the plant closure will receive outplacement assistance.
This facility is part of Rexam’s global plastics business which operates more than 45 plants and employs approximately 15,000 people around the world, serving the healthcare, closures and personal care markets.
